A child jumping up

Sistema (UK), Tinderbox (UK)

St. Peter's Street, DD1 4JJ

Thursday 8 November, 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Revolutionary youth orchestra Tinderbox collaborate with the incredible Sistema Scotland Big Noise Douglas Project – a charity that aims to transform the lives of children through music and strengthen disadvantaged communities. Taking inspiration from video games music, Tinderbox and Big Noise Douglas will improvise a new collaborative score. They will also be treating us to musical performances from their individual repertoires. Big Noise Douglas works with over 400 children in Dundee, and around 2,500 children across Scotland every week, towards permanent social change.

About the Organisations

Sistema Scotland is a charity on a mission to create permanent social change in some of the most deprived communities in Scotland. We use participation in our Big Noise orchestra programmes to change lives by fostering confidence, discipline, teamwork, pride and aspiration in the children and young people taking part. This enables the children and young people to reach their full potential, leading successful and fulfilled lives.

Tinderbox aims to ignite a spark in young people – one which fills them with confidence, imagination and sense of possibility, and which enables people to achieve things they never thought possible. Our work helps break down barriers between people & communities, providing exciting opportunities to those who need them most, and supporting young people to build their confidence, skills, self-esteem, and professional experience.
