FESTIVAL WALKING TOUR: DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE Part 2

NEoN is very pleased to present new work by AL and AL. They are inviting us to jump down the rabbit hole and explore the mind-bending reality of spacetime in a site-specific installation next to Dundee’s most loved clock. Located at the heart of the Wellgate shopping centre, the Nursery Rhyme clock has mesmerised generations of children in Dundee. This clock has inspired families to watch time and mark time together. Influenced by this magical timekeeper AL and AL’s installation will present to Dundee the World Premiere of their Immaculate Conception of Isaac Newton with the Birth of Absolute Time.

About the Artist

Since 2001, AL and AL have created an award-winning body of visionary work which has exhibited internationally in over 50 countries. Growing up in the heartland of the Industrial Revolution, the artists pioneering work is inspired by the mystery of scientific discovery, the evolution of belief systems and our entanglement with technology during the computer age.

AL and AL were awarded the Liverpool Arts Prize in 2009 and their most recent record-breaking solo exhibition, ‘Incidents of Travel in the Multiverse’ launched the artist's best-selling cosmic travelogue which documents their sensational sci-fi odyssey undertaken with groundbreaking scientists. AL and AL are currently working on a new space opera in collaboration with the American composer Philip Glass and theoretical physicist Professor Brian Greene. Following the Prix du Jury award for their short film The Creator, the artists are in development with the British Film Institute on their debut feature film, a science fiction about the last day of Alan Turing’s life when Sentient Machines from the future travel back in time to meet their Creator.
