D.I.N., the German Institute for Standardisation, is the extremely influential national standards body that represents German interests in European and international standards organisations since 1917. Their press spokesman, Mr Anthony, describes in an interview their services, aims and origins. At the same time, the concept of standardisation is elucidated by visualising some standards of video technology.

About the Artist:

Elke Reinhuber teaches and researches as an assistant professor at Nanyang University in Singapore since July 2014. In 2013, she was awarded a practice-based doctorate degree in media arts at COFA, Sydney, suggesting the term ‘Counterfactualism’ as a new category for the arts and humanities, dealing with the retrospective analysis of turning points in life. Elke Reinhuber is not your average artist, because she has become a specialist on choice, decision making and counterfactual thoughts in media arts, since working on her practice-based PhD. As a decidophobic in her own life, she explores in particular alternative layers of the here and now with immersive environments and expanded photography; currently working on an app for reality augmentation as an artist in residence at ZKM. Her work has been on display in several international museums, galleries or site-specific events.
