The NEoN festival has been organised by Interactive Tayside who is a partnership between public, private, and academic sectors to promote Tayside's digital media sector. The NEoN festival is a national\international festival of digital media arts and features moving images, music, and information technologies. The festival consists of talks, workshops, seminars, symposia, exhibitions, performances, screenings, and other special events at many venues across Tayside.

This year's event is focused on the studio developer, be this the artist or the programmer, this festival should help you expand your knowledge in key areas. This focus on development will allow technologies and cutting-edge techniques to be showcased, discussed, and performed over the two days. The event will also incorporate a number of fridge events that will be running over a number of exciting venues with room for a sponsor's showcase to be a highlight.

Objectives

NEoN Festival was originally proposed by Interactive Tayside to strengthen digital media in Tayside with a potential long-term focus on continuous evolvement with the festival while increasing awareness of Tayside as a hub of activity for digital media.

This year's event is focusing on creating interest locally and nationally in the area and creating a catalyst project that will synergise firms to be stronger within their discipline.

For the digital media and IT production community a world of rich media application beckons, and increasingly media streaming online gaming strategies and advancements in techniques and applications full into their firm's business requirements. There is a need to partner with IT players to explore new channels for delivering this content to end-users.

As the leading digital media event in the region NEoN is to get together thought leaders who will share their insights into the new business models of digital media firms, the latest production techniques, and how the art, information communication, media production, and games communities can come together to explore new opportunities in this space.
